I killed this bird this past Thursday morning the 19th. Roosted him along with another gobbler the night before. Didnt think this would be an easy hunt as they were roosted with 6 jakes and about 8 hens. They were gobbling as I was walking in so I knew it was going to be a fun hunt. Before I could pick a spot to set up on them, birds started dropping out of the trees in the swamp and I had to find one big enough to sit aganist fast. Got my gun up and made one series of calls in which they responded to right off. I sat quiet as birds rained down below me. At about that time I heard foot steps coming from the right. I glanced over to see the tail of a turkey at 20 yards and closing which I thought was a hen. I froze in place. Then as it moved across I saw the color in the head and the beard and knew it was him. I got my gun ready and held until he crossed the bead at 15 yards and well you see the end result.
