Buckshot beet me to it but...
Using ford keys is cranking the torsion bars. The keys are just indexed different to where Chevys can get more cranking ability. Just swaping the keys will crank the front because of the indexing of the keys.
You can run a 35 inch tire with ford keys, then get new longer shocks to help out the travel. Longer shocks equals better ride. You will be maxing the stock shocks out, if you get high enough on cranking.

One thing, the shocks don't affect the travel, they just support it. If you look at that link I posted you'll see what I'm talking about. The A-arm will only go so far before you get metal touching metal. The closer you get to that point, the stiffing the ride and the more it'll ride like a mule.

Thanks for all the info! I am going to stick with the 265's and probably get the BFG ATs.
285 BFG ATs want scrub and i think i got mine for like 850
I get good life outta my BFGs.
We gave you Corn, you gave us clap, bad trade.
Check out the Mastercraft Courser C/T. I havent had a set but a number of my close friends have them and are all getting great life out of them (60k+) and they pull well with no noticeable road noise. Not to mention they are pretty durn cheap last I looked. Personally I think BFG's are overrated for the money and same with Dueler A/Ts. Another tire to look at is the Goodyear Wrangler AT/S or the old TD.

cut\'em
I second buckshot on the destinations. I love mine. Rotate them every 3000 and they will last a long time. I've got 35000 on mine and still have alot of tread left. Heard from a guy that they are having a sale on them in florence, buy 3 get one free.

i don't think you'll be dissatisfied with the BGG's. i have them on my wife's z71 tahoe and my z71 pickup. i am sure the other's mentioned are good tires also but i have really like the way the BFG's grab in mud and ice. i went with the 265's on both because the only added benefit i could see in going with the 285's was the look. one thing i am surprised that hasn't been mentioned if you choose to adjust the torsion bars is making sure your camber/caster is adjusted accordingly. i have seen more than one set of tires been rounded because of this. hth.
I'm glad yall got some good Firestone tires. We are on our 3rd set of Destination MT's on out 2500hd Work truck with 20,000 miles on all three sets together! We keep having tread knobs break off! Oh well, as long as Obama keeps paying for them, we keeps throwin em on.

after having several of the popular MT tires, the BFG MTs outperform them all, hands down.
and theyre quiet on the pavement.
BFG's, Firestone Destination and Bridgestone Duelers have all been good tires for me. I buy whatever I can get the cheapest of those three. As far as the Mastercraft, for the money, they are ok but they were very loud compared to the others and I didn't get nearly the miles.
