    Default Greenwood Crappie

I knew it was a little early, but I want to know exactly when the prespawn/spawn start, so I gave the crappie a shot this past week on Greenwood. The bad weather and wind made conditions pretty tough, so I only got to go out once. Ended up catching 15 crappie – 9 keepers, 10 white perch – Only keep them if they aren’t going to make it, and about 10 small striper. Mid-lake surface water temps were around 46-47 in the morning, and reached 50-53 in the middle afternoon. The fish I caught were still deep, 10+ft and a few of the crappie had very small eggs. The eggs are not what I’m use to seeing, much smaller. The largest fish was about 1.5# - 2#, but had a monster break off. Hope this helps.

Also gave Duke a little training

All the stripers were about this size, and put up a fun fight on the 5' ugly sticks
