growing up in a family that collects shotguns like a second religion has givin me the opportunity for me to shoot alot of different makes models and guages. I have seen good ones and bad ones of everey different type and they all have their positives and negatives. I have fired classic american doubles worth more than most peoples truck. A good shotgun is one that fits you well and that you can hit consistintly with and that you enjoy shooting and that is reliable. My personal preference for best all around in the history of shotguns is an a-5 browning. But for the guy who owns one shotgun ,who wants a good reliable gun, without spending a fortune who also hunts about evereything, you cant hardly beat an 8-70.

I got a left hand remington 1100 that is 25 years old. I would not get rid of it for anything. It has given me 25 years of good service. So my vote goes to remington

Love my Baretta Xtrema. Love my Browning Gold. Really love my 870 wingmaster in 16ga. Have a special thing for my ithaca 16 side by side that my G-dad passed to me, especially when it's rabbit time. But my all time favorite scattergun is an old JC Higgens 16 in full. I used to embarrass folks at turkey shoots with it. It is the only gun I've ever seen that the action will completely fall open on just by holding the gun up and depressing the action-loc button. A copy of a model 12 that Sears somehow improved upon.

i'm sorry, did "they" make a finer gun than the 1187? i ain't rich, & i damn sure ain't pretentious...i'm just a good ol' boy that happens to have been born fortunate enough to kill a BUNCH of birds one hell of a shotgun...the 1187, 'nuff said
