    Default A huge Thanks!

I just wanted to give a shout out to all of those who helped out with the SCDUCKS.COM Youth Hunt this year! From merchandise to cooking to helping guide, we could not have done it without any of you! I will take the time to properly thank each of you when I get back to the mountain.

I would also like to say to each of the parents, y'all are doing a great job raising your children! Every one of the kids we had down were a joy to be around. Polite, well mannered, and good natured. A rarity these days. We very much enjoyed the day! Christopher, the child with brain cancer, was a special treat. 6 years old, no hunting experience, and by far the most excited from start to finish. From the time he crawled into the Argo and started shouting with glee at 6:30 am to the time he left, he kept a huge grin on his face and ours as well...

    Pics to come.

I want to personally thank everyone involved, which was many. My son Parker was one that attended and he had a great time, heres a photo of him within a few minutes of leaving- he was zonked- he shot his first teal + got his first taste of wet waders= lifetime memories. He was telling me this morning all the dogs names and who they belonged to, evidently kids are more perceptive than I thought- He called out Murdock and Salty for vocabulary infractions! I still laugh at Salty's comment after the other blind shot at some swinging birds- Heat of the Moment waterfowl vernacular I told him it was called!

    Great pic Turd.

I was wondering if any of those birds would have a feather left on them by the end of the day...

Evan also had a great time, and I am sure that he is sharing all of his stories today at school. I also want to thank everyone involved especially JABIII and his family for their hospitality. What a wonderful thing to do for all of those kids.

I was honored to have been able to participate in the youth hunt. I can say that from my observation, basically though the camera, that the kids and the parents had a blast. Everyone out at 2Rivers, with all that they did to prepare did an EXCELLENT job. Thank you to all for everything that you put into this event.

Here's a couple of shots from the morning. Plenty more to come a little later today.

I had a great time with the kids and look forward to doing it again in the future. My vocabulary has never been kid friendly and I will continue to pat myself on the back for only having one major slip up!

Heather and I appreciate the effort that was put into this as well as the invite. As good as the birds flew, as good as the food was and as gracious as the host and his counterparts were, Chris has to be the highlight of the trip.

Little Christopher was riot. That boy told me I had to eat last because he was going first! I about wet my pants. I wish I was 1/4 as enthusiastic as that young man.

My heart was a glow after meeting Christopher and his UNCLE- who walked through what you see the ARGO driving through in mere leather boots socks and blue jeans- both of them continued to smile the rest of the day---he too has lifetime memories of this hunt as well as little Chris- I hope this family is blessed with many more memories, all of them being far greater than what I have yet to receive.

All the kids involved were a joy. Skrimp, I have to congratulate you and your daughter again. She folded that teal up like last week's laundry and was a great sport about it when Christopher "adopted" the bird as his and named it.

I called Christopher's mom on the way home yesterday and told her what a joy he was. He is a life's lesson walking. A child six years old, constantly laughing, finding joy in everything, while facing death daily. I was talking to his Uncle yesterday and the all the young'un talks about is hunting. I dont know much about his prognosis, nor their situation, but I plan on keeping in touch.

I don't think the final tally is nearly as important as the fun these kids had. My hats off to those involved, and I am sure memories were made that will never be forgotten.
