    Default Quail Legs Anyone?

Buckshot, myself and another buddy went on a quail hunt a couple weeks ago, and here is some of the fruits of our labor.

Gotta eat a dozen or so of em, but they were mighty tasty.

I had grabbed the last BL in the fridge, and we had a couple of the lime variety left over from when the girls were here.

Unfortunately there is nothing in the mason jar.

You drink what is in the fridge at the time. I was sampling several different types throughout the evening. I was on a mission to clean out the fridge to make room for the fresh supply of BL.

    Trapper, I got the joke.

cusportsman, let me tell you how to take those quail legs to another level. First, forget the fries. Second, you gotta have a pot of rice and gravy with quail, see. It's a moral imperative. And a pot of green beans cooked with some sort of pork product is always nice. That way you can say you had something green.

I'll second that....sort of. Fry the WHOLE skinny chicken in Olive Oil, when done drain the excess oil and make you a gravy with the seasoned flour that you battered the quail with. Place birds back into gravy and allow to simmer @ a very low temp. Serve it all over a bed of white rice. Collards on the side and putcha some of that pepper vinegar on the collards. Have some brown & serve rolls to sop-up all the stray run-aways. Dammit.

    Fish and Idle,

Both of those sound very good and I will probably try them at a later date. We try not to get real fancy and fix whatever we got in the house and is the quickest. After graduation I will begin to expand my horizons on the side dishes.

Besides the Light beer cancels out all of the "unhealthy" grease right?

make no mistake....my dish aint fancy! I forgot to add the side of FRIED cornbread...FRIED!!!...not that other crap. Olive Oil is expensive to use for such a dish but well worth both the health and taste benfits, trust me! And as far as the Light beer cancelling the added caloric intake....sure, I'l go with that.

Both of you need to enjoy the quail and leave the beer alone
