My last lab ate a piece of mulch, and it punchered her intestines. She had surgery to remove the puncherd section (10-11 inches), and she died on the operating table.

If you have any worry (which you probably should), get the dog an ultrasound asap. Then you will either have a sigh of relief, or know if surgery needs to be performed.

    Good luck,

my lab ate a shish-ka-bob skewer made of bamboo and passed it in 2 weeks. then we went to the mountains and he ate some mushrooms and was high for a day. I took him to vet ER and they gave him fluids and took $350 and said he will be ok. Don't panic as long as he eats and acts somewhat normal.
