The boy could have done some things different. I don't see where he is laughing at the goose being wounded, but instead,the antics of his buddy. Whatever your view is, you guys are being a bit harsh. It is obvious the boy is learning, and in more ways than one. Just another reason for a duck ed program.

I wouldn't hunt with half the people around here considered "cool" duck killers either... A few tamies or bootlips whacked does not a duck hunter make.

This site isn't here for a bunch of people who don't kill ducks themselves to jump on another hunter who, at least, is trying to learn to kill ducks. If you haven't shot half a box of shells at a crippled goose then you haven't shot many fucking geese...

I have shot at crippled birds- some died on the first and some died on the 10th shot and a few times they never died and i never recovered them.

I have NEVER posted up a video of such an event on a national website and then gone to another website that is mainly devoted to promoting waterfowl hunting and then shown my efforts and bragged.

My problem is not that the event occurred- it's that is was bragged about and shown ad-nauseum.

Very poor choice by SpellCheck... he could have shown 100 different aspects of that hunt and never had a problem. He picked the wrong one to celebrate.

He is part of the "ME" Generation. These young people think that to amount to anything in life they must capture all their moments and post them for the world to see. It is not good enough for them to do something on their own, they want to make sure that the whole world can see how special they are. Look at me Look at me. Hell there was even an article on this site or another that reported some schmuck committed suicide via overdose and used a webcam to let people watch. It isnt all about you and what you think is owed to you, it is about be a responsible sportsman and having respect for your quarry.

Just like Myspace and Facebook, who gives a rats ass how many "friends" you have and that you are "stoked" today. How many of those "friends" do you have their phone number? How many would you have to call before one of them would come get you out jail at 3am?

I agree. We've all done it, hell I've shot a wounded duck 5 or 6 times. I've never laughed about it though, rather wandered "why in the heck did that happen?" That hasn't happened since I got my dog but follow up shots are still required sometimes to keep a bird from getting away.

David, I see where your buddy's acts may have been funny at the time but it is open to too much interpretation to post on the net. The problem is some people take this stuff the wrong way and can use it as ammo for various issues that we are against as a group. Just THINK before you post something such as this.
