Boat electronics, welding???

i was wondering if you can weld on a boat and not fry any of the electronics or if theres something you have to disconnect? like on cars if you weld on them with out disconnecting the battery it can fry some of the computers... Just wondering, thanks.

Cars are grounded to the chasis. Most boats are grounded straight to the battery due to the water and electrolisis. If you have any doubts disconnect it.
