Has anybody ever heard of this motor before? I am worried about getting parts for it. I did a google search and couldn't find anything.

I'd be a little hesitant on the parts issue...

Never heard of them, would a trolling motor suffice?

A trolling motor will work but I am trying to get rid the weight of the battery and motor. The 2.5hp motors only weigh 37lbs and of course don't need a battery.

18 more pounds and you get the 5/hp according to the website freeliner posted. Has to be alot quieter than the 5/hp briggs aircooled motor fo sure.

The boat is only rated for a 4hp motor. Since the 4hp and the 5hp weight the same could you put a 5hp on it and still be legal?

I don't think you can order an individual motor off of that website. It looks like you have to order at least a 100 of them. I did find this website on a search of google of Tohatsu motors. I think they may be my best bet. I think I would get the 3.5hp instead of the 2.5hp.

Give me some opinions on these motors. I have never owned one of them.

I don't think you would get much static over a HP or 2 over the boat rating.
