    Default Bow Accessories

Well, just picked up my first rig, it's a brand new Diamond The Rock (got it for a pretty decent deal i think) only problem is it's bare

    need some recommendations for:
    -sight
    -arrow rest
    -quiver
    -release
-think it comes with vibration dampeners on the limbs
    -arrows
    -case(probably a hard case)

all these need to be more on the economical side without sacrificing too much quality/dependability

I just got my first bow also a Mathews DXT, as a gift, and was suprised at how much everything cost. Go ahead and bend over take it like a man, cause none of that stuff is cheap.

You are about to find out that the bow is only half of the investment and should accommodate about half your budget.

Sight: Vital Bow Gear, Spot Hog, there are a lot of good ones.

    Rest: Whisker Biscuit

Release: Scott lil' Goose, you'll need two since you'll drop one out of the tree.

    Quiver: Alpine soft loc

Arrows: Carbon express are economical decent carbons however alloy are cheap, straight and tough

Case: You are about to drop close to a grand, so why skimp on the case. SKB.

Pass it to the left and don't lip it.

its a good thing that i did not have any money in my bow, or the accessories would have had to wait until next year.

But if I did, the bow and accessories would have been almost $1400.

-spot hog sight or truglo makes some good ones as well

-I would probably get a kwiki quiver.

    -scott release

    -tru-glo stabilizer

-whisker biscuit or for a fall away. or the PSE Phantom is very good as well.

    -G5 Peep

thats just what I would probably set up

You need a tech to set that shit up for you.

J&S Gun Depo in Easley. Number is in the book.

The money you save will be displaced by shipping and PIA cost. Go to a pro shop and have 'em set it up for you.

I just bought a new bow, and it has a Hostage rest. I like it better than the wisker bis I had on my old bow.

I 2nd jeffery archery. Good people that have been doing it along time. If you want to drive up to exit 73 on 77 you can go to Nichols. They have a pretty good selection and will get you set up fast.

Gold Tip Pro Hunter arrows, Muzzy 100 3 blade broadheads, QAD drop away rest,G5 optix xr sights, Scotts little goose release, absolutely the Alpine Soft-loc quiver and either a Plano Pro 44 or SKB case. If it would be shipped for hunting trips, I would go with the SKB, if not then the Plano. Almost forgot, Sims vibration dampeners and a Sims or Doinker stabilizer.

First of all welcome to the sport, be forewarned its addicting. Like everything else, most think that what they use is the best, so take that with a grain of salt-do some research and buy what you feel comfortable using.

Not saying that its the best setup for you, but heres what I've had success with on my bows:

Sight: Toxonics(all metal, more expensive), TRU GLO(cheaper, but good started sights)

Rest: Trophy Taker Shakey Hunter Fall Away, Whisker Biscuit(GREAT hunting rest)

Quiver: Alpine Soft Loc (I take my quiver off of my bow once up in the tree)

Release: TRU Ball Stinger (pretty inexpensive as releases come, but I really like these)

Stabilizer: Sims S-Coil (will run you under $20 and is definitely worth it)

Check out www.archerytalk.com and go to the FREE Classified Ads page, you might be able to find some gently used stuff for a good deal cheaper there.

I'm a Clemson student and saw that your going to be up here, its a bowhunters dream with all the public land around.
