    Default favorite easy recipes

Well i just started thinking that I'm not gonna get a meal plan for next year up at school so I am going to have to feed myself. This isn't really a big problem, I think for a college kid that I'm a decent cook. But, I want to expand on what I already can do. So, what are some of yalls favorite recipes that arnt that complicated and don't take to long? (Unless it has to do with a crock-pot or something I can leave while I'm in class or overnight)

we cook a lot of deer cubes/steaks in clemson, we've got to start cooking or fixing more stuff at the house rather than going fastfood though

My favorite college quick meal was:

    Millionaires Chili

Brown hamburger meat- I could make a pound of hamburger last 4 days!
add pork & beans- cheese- hot sauce- seasoning

I still make this concoction- My son even cooked it on TV- he added hot dogs to his and called it camp fire chili- cooked in his scout uniform

    Eat now Fart later

Worst college meal I can remember attempting to eat:

    Spamghetti
Can of spam- sketti noodles and ketchup
I ate 2 bites- the second one was to verify the first one tasted like shit

haha yea, I'm already a huge fan of the canned ravioli and easy mac and what not.
Turd, that chili looks good. Thats the kind of thing I'm looking for. may cook a bunch on Sunday to have during the week. I know its wishful thinking to think I'm actually gonna do it, but its a nice thought right now.

Shes got a great taste- In the old days I made it with velveeta "processed" cheese- Parents only gave me 50 a week for college groceries back then and 30 of that was spent on BEER and cigarettes- I had to streeeeeeeeeeetch that 20- showboat brand pork and beans back then was the cheapest but still good today- when my mom asked me what kind of groceries I wanted I told her 20 cans of P&B-hell you can eat em for breakfast and put on a FREE fireworks show for your friends before lunch

I aint crazy bout velveeta since getting a taste of REAL sharp chedder in block form- thats what I use now-- I bet it would also be great to add a quarter can of Rotel or some jalepenos to it- to heat up ure ass and make it more of a flamethrower on the shitter
    --
anyway it only takes about 10 minutes total to make- Hell I ate it out the skillet! less dishes to wash-- it will fill ya up-

Well the beer takes care of that too so I'm not very worried about a little extra time in the porcelain god. That is one good thing about college though, all the nasty food and beer keeps you regular...real regular.

the other big thing in college was the all you can eat pizza buffet night at a local pizza hut- a empty bread bag was your best friend - we would fill that bastard up with pizza slices to eat later in week- The sign reads "all you can eat" does not stipulate length of time!

Buy whole chickens when they are on sale for $2.99. Thaw them out as needed by taking one out of the freezer and letting it sit in the refrigerator for 48 hours. Pat it dry with a paper towel then rub it down with oil or margarine and liberally sprinkle it with your favorite seasoning. Bake at 350 and serve with rice and another of your favorite enexpensive vegetables.

About how long do you bake it? Or is it just one of those "till its done" kinda things?

Depends on the size of the bird. Cut into the leg after an hour to check it. Usually an hour and fifteen minutes to an hour and a half is adequate. A good way to make cheap tasty rice is to use broth or stock in place of water. If you like corn its always on sale somewhere. Frozen beans and peas are good also.

Have your mom or YOU make a big batch Beef stew and freeze 2 day portions- bags of precooked rice can be frozen too if you want to be eating in 5 minutes instead of 15!
Beef stew hits the spot anytime- We used to buy them family cans of Dinty? Moore but this crap taste like dog meat compared to moms-- You MUST always have a bottle of Crystal or Franks red hot sauce in the fridge or you FAIL- this goes on everything in college-specailly beef stew and sketti and the millionaire chili

Spaghetti can be done like this also

My pantry was always empty in school- hell a crow would have to pack a picnic lunch just to fly over the damn place
But it was restocked after ever return trip from home- or if the parents came in town for a visit- Hell I would go to a buddies place and drink his room mates milk and then put water back to the carton- I remember them bastards fighting over who was eating and drinking each others shit- I thankfully had my own place off away from student housing
