Dnr's reasoning behind not allowing it, yes this came from one of the meen in green himself, is to not disturb the deer with a bunch of shooting and crap year round.
But i agree there should be mabye a few days every few months.

you can hunt hogs with small game firearms on WMA year round and with centerfire during open deer season and shotguns during turkey season.

no, copied form the DNR regs. "hogs may be hunted on wma's, but with the weapons open in the current season on the WMA."
SO you could use a 22 on wmas from sept 1st to march 1st. or you could use a cenerfire rifle or bow or muzzleloader on wma's from aug. 15th to jan 1st. you could use a shotgun or bow from mar. 15th to may first.
