The mercury 4 blades are called trophy sports I believe. Unless you have tried one and know it runs better than a 3 blade I would definatly stick with the 3 blade. 4 blades are almost always slower.

Salty is right!! four blades for holeshot, 3 blades for speed. the more blades the more efficeint, the fewer the faster. I got a 4 blade 14 pitch Trophy sport if you want to try it. Hit me up with a PM if interested.

found a hell of a deal on a Mercury Vengence 3 Blade SS that was on closeout. About half price and still in the box. Went from an 18 pitch aluminum to a 15 pitch SS and damn the difference in performance.

i got no dang idea how that thing is setup. added a cmc breakaway and that prop and shit flies. it does sit up higher on the transon than before the cmc.
