Default Duck Run Behavior and Administration

I wanted to thank everyone and describe the behavior from Saturday's events. I brought my six year old and there was nothing that happened that day that made me second guess that decision. In fact, I overheard several people reminding others to watch their language because kids were around. The participants took there lead from the organizers who ran a first class event. I have read post about drinking and conduct but honestly from launch at 8:30 am until a 3:15 pm recovery we had a great time. My son and I spend about 75 days a year on the water and I can safely say he had as much fun Saturday as he has offshore.

The men were conscious about not relieving themselves in front of ladies and the tarpaulin toilet at Station 5 was a nice touch. Another tribute to the organizers of the event. Also the registration tent ran as good or better than any fishing tournament or field trial I had ever attended. Those ladies and men kept everything flowing.

As a 14 year volunteer to various outdoor organizations, I know what it takes to run an event like that and then to be able to raise funds in the process is fantastic. Great job setting a tone. I never even heard a harsh word at the ramp while all those boats were being launched. I only wish there was a way to display our handles/screen names/forum names so that I could attach more faces to names. Below is a short video I created for the family to appreciate the day. Enjoy, MG

    great stuff.

Its a good group of people. I know that, from time to time, someone will show their ass...but that is not the norm with this group.

wish I had met you over the weekend. glad you had a good time.

Very well done, MG. I have wondered about bringing my boy. Reading that makes me feel much better about things. Looks like y'all had a great time.

There's something really satisfying about wearing them out and them wanting to do it all over again.

I will have to agree with Maggie on this one. I had my little boy with me as well. I tried to stay clear of the obvious "party groups" so as to not spoil their fun. Everyone we encountered could not have been nicer or more respectful. Folks were really friendly to him and tried to make sure he was having fun. He had a ball with his water guns. Thanks to everyone, I may make an outdoorsman of him yet.

He woke up Sunday morning, put on his swim trunks and wanted to get back on the boat. He was real upset when he found out that we couldn't do that every day.

Another great job putting things together guys!

My son came for the third time and he looks foreward to it now. I also had no problems and stayed clear of the hard down party crew. I think he's begining to notice girls are more than just spitball targets now. Thanks for the eye candy rp

I wish y'all could thank those two themselves. They were a great help. And darn good sports about it all.
It's not enough to simply tolerate the 2nd Amendment as an antiquated inconvenience. Caring for the 2nd Amendment means fighting to restore long lost rights.

Great effort on all those who were involved, from the sponsors to the photographers right down to the guys who just wanted to come out and fellowship with others. It says something to have that many white males, drinking all day, without having the first scuffle or cross words.

    I enjoyed it thoroughly.
