Lexington County (WLTX) - Lexington County deputies say they've shut down what they say was a crackhouse that had been operating in Gaston for years.

The home is located at 2424 Glenn Road.

They say it's been used by members of the Geiger family to sell powder and crack cocaine. Some members of that family have already been arrested on drug charges.

In this case, deputies arrested 55-year-old John Wesley Geiger, 31-year-old Alfred Allen Geiger, 32-year-old Toby Denise Geiger, 75-year-old Mary Ann Geiger, and 52-year-old Annie Lee Scipio.

Deputies say they'd regularly received complaints from citizens about drug dealing at the home. Officers say there were two drug-related shootings there in 2004. Members of the Geiger family have been arrested on drug charges dating back to April, 1993.

Deputies say back on February 1, 2008, officers arrested six people at the home. Another 18 were arrested who showed up at the home later. The most recent arrest was May 9th.

Authorities gave the residents a ten-day eviction notice before they came in to board the house up.

Sheriff Metts says they've tried for years to seize the property, without success. Investigators must provide substantial evidence that the building is an ongoing cause for concern before a court will grant approval. The sheriff says it took until this year for a court order to be obtained.

"The seizure of this home will terminate an illegal drug enterprise that has plagued the community for years," Lexington County Sheriff James Metts said in a written statement.

People who want to report illegal drug activity anonymously can call Crimestoppers at 1-888-559-TIPS.

Look at that women on the left. It looks like she's been beat with the crack pipe one too many times. Sad.
