COLUMBIA, S.C. --
A 57-year-old Williston man has pleaded guilty to taking $5.2 million from his employer and promises to pay all of the money back.

Prosecutors say William Trier II pleaded guilty to embezzlement Wednesday.

Authorities say Trier stole from vending machine maker Crane Company for 10 years starting in 1997.

Prosecutors say Trier used his job as logistics director to create fraudulent invoices from fake companies. When his business paid the fake companies, authorities say Trier had the checks sent to post office boxes he had rented.

Prosecutors say Trier faces up to 20 years in prison and $250,000 in fines when he is sentenced later. They say he also promised to make full restitution.

A phone listing for Trier could not be found.
