I don't know much.... just what I saw on the HRC website. The first series did not complete today and will continue tomorrow morning. Call back reports will be posted tomorrow morning at the conclusion of the first series. All tests were shut down for a period of time as thunderstorms passed through Madison, GA.

Had to do some stop and go's due to lightning. Got word over the phone that the Dude and his running mate Allie should pass, but dont think DM1, HC, Tarbaby, Professor, Esy, or Huntlabs will run untill tomorrow. Spectators cant get close enough to see the whole test, just a glimps of a dog here and there. From what we could tell these tests are eatin' some lunches! There are a lot of fine dogs that have a long week of sitting on the trailers.

thanks BB.. really wanted to make the trip, but with gas and the purchase of those wingers I just couldn't justify it... besides I wuldn't have gotten to our guys run... at least the ones I know...

no problem pb. glad our trip turned out to be of some good. we had plans on spending the night and watching tomorrow, but since you cant see a damn thing decided to come on home. looks like you put your time at home to good use in the casino.

CRC has 6 dogs going into the third series... Chic, Doc, Skyler, Dude, Rebel, & Penny.

I hear the next series is a tough one. In a stick pond with several logs to cross on the marks.

"A" Flight will get to the third series tomorrow afternoon. I hear that it's the slowest test to run and has everyone backed up waiting a little.

Someone described the next test as "A Bloodbath"!

The Purina test runs a cold blind first...across 10 logs! You have to keep your dog VERY tight or you'll lose him/her. It's a real bitch of a test.

Gurley didn't have her best day today. The Avery water test was definately doable. She picked up the first mark with no trouble, took a line that split the right and middle marks and I cleanly handled her to the middle mark (the one that was giving every dog fits) in two whistles. Lined her up on the easy (? I thought it was easy) right mark and she took a good line until she got to the treetop that the committee had placed in line with the mark. The tree kicked her left, and she was back on the previous line. When she got to the far bank, I had no option but to handle her. Tweet..."pick up your dog". The judges didn't let her pick up the third bird or run the blind.
The test wasn't that much harder than a weekend Finished test (I've set up more difficule tests), but the judging DEFINATELY was tighter. If your dog got to the platform before you..."rope him", if he vocalized at the line...well, he was disturbing the hunt.."rope him", two cast refusals..."call your dog in", etc.
All things considered, we had a really good time with our CRC friends, and meeting other new friends from all over. The Grand is a very festive event and I would recommend it for any Finished handler.
