    Default Depth Finder

Need to replace mine, not looking for a lot of functions, color or GPS.

What do you have and would you buy it again?

    Eagle FishMark 480.

Would definitely do it again. Solid unit and not all that expensive.

Thanks Simple, I like the pixels, do you have any trouble with turbulence at high speed?

My Garmin was good up to 20 kts then it went south.

Considering it's in a 15' SeaArk w/a 25 Mercury, I can't really get fast enough to cause it too much trouble. As long as the transducer stays where I put it, it'll read at speed just fine.

Just got a Hummingbird Piranha Max 220. Inexpensive but very effective. Mounted the transducer on the inside of my HighTide...works great and don't have to worry about knocking it off in the swamp.

JReb, I would LOVE to mount mine inside the hull, but i understand they don't do so well in aluminum boats. You heard anything like that?

simple, there is a special transducer made just for aluminum boats

better to keep it inside the boat instead of some slightly intoxicated individual knocking it off falling out of a boat, or so I've heard

That's worth more than his dang boat!

In that boat his depth finder should consist of a Mason jar he holds on his eye and sticks the bottom of the jar in the water for a look-see!

    Pure evil.

I guess it's a good thing that you show up only 6% of the time.
