that appears to be the rhetoric that is repeated.

my 401k did fine the last four years.

I am not dumb blind or stupid.

that is the only point I am making. MAYBE things work out as planned. I certainly hope they do.

Our "allies" impose astronomical tariffs on our products every day for years. (Thanks NAFTA) It is not and has not been a level playing field. Other "allies" get on the bully pulpit to complain about the freedom we provide them at no charge.

Do y'all not remember the destruction that the "other side" perpetuated over the last few years? Cities were literally burned to the ground, other cities under siege and taken over by roving gangs, pallets of bricks "mysteriously" appearing. Millions of illegal immigrants forcibly inserted into small towns across the country.

But since it didn't affect your 401k, all is well...

    Bullshit.

I guess since your dentist office isn't in downtown Portland you don't care. Antifa must be good for business. Maybe if you owned the Walgreens in Baltimore that was burned to the ground you might give a shit. I had employees 2 blocks from there that night. To say it was tense is an understatement. I was there 2 weeks later, and it was a hellscape.

Go up above Huntsville, Alabama into the Tennessee River valley around Lewisburg, TN and see what the influx of 3rd world immigrants has done. But it didn't affect YOUR 401k so you don't give a shit.

This country is at war and has been for several years. If Hillary had been elected, the war would be over by now. Obama stated his goal of Fundamentally Transforming the United States of America. That was nearly 15 years ago. But for 2 months my 401k hurts?

Your, and my, 401k is artificially high, buoyed by free money pumped from the treasury. Everyone loves it, until the bill comes. This economy is addicted to free money. With any addiction, detox is gonna SUCK!

I am speaking economically here but Thomas Paine's words ring true. "I prefer peace. But if trouble must come, let it come in my time, so that my children can live in peace."

Heaven forbid, someone might have to work on Friday to make ends meet.
NAFTA is no longer a thing. Trump replaced it with the deal he negotiated in 2018, the one he currently says is awful.

About the shortest way I can explain this is that a combination of labor laws, union wages and union anti-technology polices, and environmental regulations started to slowly break down the "local advantage" US manufacturers had in selling to US customers. As US input costs started going up, foreign manufacturers could start chipping away at the US market even though they had to pay oceanic shipping rates.

A couple of examples are when US textiles collapsed because unions wouldn’t let them integrate technology improvements that would have increased production but not total FTEs so we now wear cloths from Bangladesh instead for the US. And, the danged manhole cover in my cul-de-sac was made in India.

Liberals told the American voter that this was good because it “leveled the playing field”. When Republican administrations tried to reverse the trend, they were called “protectionists”.

The “local advantage” is not enough for US manufactures to compete against foreign competitors because they don’t have the same labor laws (sweat shops/child labor) nor do they have the same environmental policies affecting the cost of energy.

Union busting and reducing unnecessary environmental regulations is only one piece of the puzzle need to bring manufacturing back to US soil. The other is getting prices back to parity with tariffs so investors are more willing to invest the hundreds of billions of dollars need for new, modern manufacturing facilities.

Tariffs are needed and will only be eased once US investors start seeing a return. Yes, this will hurt but it's the result of decades of neglect and stupid voters voting for people that make them feel good.

Sheesh. We have already laughed at him about all that on page one. Give him a break, so that his nightly MSNBC broadcast doesn't suffer. One more human doesn't tune in and they may be kaput Comrades...

It's true. There are a lot of countries that rely on us to buy their stuff. Then the same countries turn and look at us when they need money. We give them money, we buy their goods and when they need more for some emergency we give them more. And strangely enough, many of them hate us.

We are done with that fuckery Gander. No American earner will pay another penny of tax if DOGE doesn't sort that eurotrash out. These really are interesting times. We the People are winning despite half of our retarded country...

I agree but some rouge judge jumps in and compels the Trump administration to pay up. This nonsense needs to get fixed by Congress or judges will keep stepping in and requiring Trump to keep paying. These stupid CR's keep the same budget year to year. The big beautiful bill is supposed to end that. The problem is they still need some democrats to pass anything in the senate because they need 60 votes but we only have 53 Republicans.

We've had tariffs since the last administration. Even Biden didn't remove them.

And today another idiot judge is requiring the Trump administration to rehire all the probationary government employees who were let go last month. So apparently you can't downsize the government either. You get a government job and it's like a lifetime appointment.

Perhaps the firings were not done correctly. Have you read the order issued by the judge or is he an idiot because you disagree with his ruling? Were judges wrong or idiots when they prevented Biden from canceling student loan debt?

And who exactly is going to enforce the judges ruling?

All Enforcement actions are housed in the executive branch. What happens if the justice department chooses not to enforce? Eric Holder was found in contempt of Congress and was referred to the justice department for prosecution. Justice department said no.

Obama claimed that the executive branch has the power of “selective enforcement.”

No, they will not. Biggest joke on the American taxpayer of all.

Sell a tater for .40 cents at Harris Teeter and and charge my boy in Idaho .70 cents per each.

All taters should be put in woodchippers if you ask me...

If government spending isn’t cut now it never will be. It’s all lip service, no one, on either side is willing to give up their pet project money. I predict the can kicking will continue as usual.

Not fired correctly? I'm not even sure how you can fire someone incorrectly. They were in their probationary period. Meaning they can be released without cause. That's why they were RIF'd first. The judge is an Obama installed left winger. If you haven't noticed, left wingers have lost their minds. They are completely out of ideas. They have resorted to creating asinine videos and waving signs like spoiled brats who have been put in time out. They are doing anything and everything to stop Trump/Musk. They are vandalizing Tesla.

They are using the courts to stop the Trump agenda. Just the same way they tried to stop him from getting elected. Remember the idiot judges that said it was Ok to have his name removed from state ballots? Yeah, good times.
