    Default New project teaser (seacraft)

Picked up this 1978 seacraft 20ft Master angler this weekend. Not the priority right now but wanted to go ahead and grab it. Looking into other rebuilds I came across a really nice one on here a while ago.

If you want another project my brother in law has an old late 1970's mako, 18-20ft I think that has been retired and needs a new life.

That itch you'll be feeling is going to be from fiberglass dust...

I love projects like this - keep us posted.

Man that thing looks rough. However after seeing your hightide, I can't wait to see what she looks like once you're done.

Very cool boat. If you do a full rebuild, you should make the transom 25" instead.... a 20" transom with a following sea on those boats can be a little sketchy at times

I lucked into some carbon fiber, so the current plan is to do full carbon enclosed transom and integrated bracket

Why the 20 over the 23?

    Rebuilding with composite?

I see a lot of grinder time in your future! Keep us posted, I miss the smell of fresh resin in the garage.

I have access to 23 and wanted something that would be easier to trailer. Also the cost of doing a 23 would be a lot more mostly driven by the engine.

Yeah won't put any wood back in it.

    I have a 1970 20ft SF.....
Love that boat and I'm ready to get it back on the lift but I got more in it than I had sense at the time.
    All composite refit...

Calibogue, yours is one of the builds that I'm following very closely.

I see a lot of brackets mounted with the "deck" 3 or 4 inches above the water line. I assume this is just to get the desired engine mounting height on premade/generic brackets.

Are there any reasons you couldn't put the deck much closer to the water line?
