Picked up this 1978 seacraft 20ft Master angler this weekend. Not the priority right now but wanted to go ahead and grab it. Looking into other rebuilds I came across a really nice one on here a while ago.

Appreciate it, this one should scratch my itch for a while
Very cool boat. If you do a full rebuild, you should make the transom 25" instead.... a 20" transom with a following sea on those boats can be a little sketchy at times
"Hunt today to kill tomorrow." - Ron Jolly
I lucked into some carbon fiber, so the current plan is to do full carbon enclosed transom and integrated bracket
Why the 20 over the 23?
Rebuilding with composite?
I see a lot of grinder time in your future! Keep us posted, I miss the smell of fresh resin in the garage.
I have access to 23 and wanted something that would be easier to trailer. Also the cost of doing a 23 would be a lot more mostly driven by the engine.
Yeah won't put any wood back in it.
I have a 1970 20ft SF.....
Love that boat and I'm ready to get it back on the lift but I got more in it than I had sense at the time.
All composite refit...

Any local suppliers of core materials?
Calibogue, yours is one of the builds that I'm following very closely.
I see a lot of brackets mounted with the "deck" 3 or 4 inches above the water line. I assume this is just to get the desired engine mounting height on premade/generic brackets.
Are there any reasons you couldn't put the deck much closer to the water line?
