    Default Vintage gunsmith

    Hey All,

Has anyone used Darlington Gun Works? I've heard they are good with older shotguns.

I have a Winchester Model 24 it was my father's that needs a bit of work and his 1927 A5 Belgium light 12.

Just checking in to see you guys opinions?

    Thank you!

    No such thing..YANKEE.

If the gun was important to me, that’s where I’d take it.

Darlington has done some work for me on a few, they do good work.

Ron Cox would be another one to consider, just don't be in a hurry.
Yeah, but do you consider a dog to be a filthy animal? I wouldn't go so far as to call a dog filthy but they're definitely dirty. But, a dog's got personality. Personality goes a long way.

Is Ron Cox still working? I rode by his house last week and there was a future housing development sign in the front yard.

He reblued a 1905 A5 for me years ago and made it look like it was made yesterday.

As long as you leave the dem yankee ideals north, you’re okay.

I did! With my values still intact. Very easy, since I was raised on a cattle ranch 200 head of Angus ok average. Hunting and fishing since I could walk. I was just born in the better/reasonable part of the State. So, when my wife got an offer she had a hard time refusing, myself freshly retired, no kids in tow, we left. Best decision I've made in years. I like to consider ourselves as an asset not a liability.

We didn't expect anything and nor did we want a Starbucks or fast food near by. We just wanted peace.

    We have that, mostly.

No idea, haven’t seen him in a few years. They had a couple of acres over there, somebody may have come along and he doesn’t need to work anymore.

Ron sold almost all of the surrounding land for several tract home “developments.” Held out for years until they made it so he couldn’t say “no” anymore.

Darlington Gun Works will get you set up. I took a vintage LC Smith down there for some stock repair and a checkup. They polished the actions, tuned up the action lever and checked the dual triggers etc. Made sure it safe and ready to go. I was happy with the price and turnaround, which I think was under 2 weeks if I remember correctly. They'll set you up and do it right.
