Military, healthcare, and social security will soon be audited. We’ll have to wait and see if there are significant cuts to be made there.

A national sales tax of +/- 26% would be necessary to replace income tax at 2024 spending levels.
Fish where do you get it would take a 26% sales tax to replace income tax? I’m not saying you’re wrong because I don’t know. But I’d like to knkw what you’re basing that on. Naturally you’d have to know total spending and total tax rev collected to calculate a percentage like that. Is that how you came up with it?

That estimate came from Greg George, Ph.D. economist specializing in free-market economics; Endowed Professor at MGSU, Chair of the Middle Georgia Economic Advisory Council affiliated with the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta.

I have never looked into it, so I’ll ask. How transparent are SC’s agencies? Do we have waste there? We pay property tax and income tax, along with consumption tax on everything. Would be nice to get some relief here at home.

Those Post Hole Diggers PhD don’t know everything. It would be interesting to know what services he’s applying that number to also. I’m with you on looking into SC. I’ve said before on here, Loftis bragged about investing the money or part of it in the billion dollar surplus and now they say it’s an account ting error. So, Loftis is a liar or they’re ALL liars. I’d like an explanation here in SC for sure. We’re not getting the truth one way or the other.

You just don't make a 1.8 billion dollar accounting error. It stinks, bad!

Just pass the fairtax and be done with it. The math has been done. It’s all right there.

Glenn is correct. The work and math has been done, checked, counterchecked several times. Read the book and it will become apparent .
