I live 6 miles from the Scout facility. It is amazing what those dirt movers have done in a relatively short time. I use to be in a dog driving club on that property, but this use will be a huge benefit to the locality. Once finished they will be a great neighbor. Property values are going thru the roof. I figure to sell out once it starts hiring heavily and move out.

Gas or diesel engine generating power for batteries or electric motors is not new, trains have been powered this way for a long time. Much higher torque, Diesel/Gas engine runs at most efficient RPM's all the time, no need for traditional transmission

I've seen some youtube videos of this company making logging trucks this way, cool idea

i think its disgusting and total bureaucratic/political BS how this shit happens and would rather have the woods.

I'm glad you're happy financially because thats the only way politicians push this shit on the people and we fall for it.

well, I normally would agree with you. But I have been self employed for 35 years and am hoping to get on the Scout payroll to coast on to retirement without the stress. I also have 2, 20ish year old non college nephews that will get a job that pays well. so will alot of other locals.

I get it. Trust me. I'm all for local south carolinians being self sufficient and working.

I dont like "credits" or tax breaks or trades for raping a piece of land and then the old bait and switch when they wave the shiny new piece of land they will "preserve". thats a 50% loss of land.

    so, congrats?
