Default Starting a pressure washing business??????

Anyone in the business or do it on the side? Trace wants to work but needs something flexible to accommodate his fishing schedule. He gets out of school around 3:45 so getting a few jobs a week along with some weekends would be ideal. He has done several jobs pressure washing jobs in the neighborhood and made some descent money.

Trying to decide if he is going to do this on a consistent basis, should we invest in a trailer with tank etc or is that overkill. Not sure what homeowners outside of our neighborhood would expect as far as water usage.

Lots of competition out there for bigger jobs. If he's just going to focus on picking up a couple of homes a week, I'd say go for it using the equipment he's been using. He just needs to stick to what he does well and set the expectation.

Def won’t be going for “big” jobs right now. Driveways, sidewalks, park lots etc.

My son doesn't have his license yet but pulls my little trailer and lawnmower around our subdivision with the golf cart and cuts a few lawns. He also has a few people that pay him / me to haul stuff do the dump. He is starting to realize that when he buys his first vehicle, that he will be able to use the pickup to make some extra money. Have your son advertise on marketplace about junk removal, people will pay an ambitious teen to haul their shit away. Hell, my son even list shit that people throw away on marketplace for sale.

Once you get into the larger stuff you will see companies want a copy of Gen Liability and W Comp, at that point he is in a full blown business

I would just stick to simple stuff right now ( I assume he is a teenager )

Lawn care would have better repeat clients than pressure washing.

That investment seems it would kill any profitability. He could also look for conventional jobs after school.

Some of my old clients just sold their pressure washing business for fuck you money to private equity.

They started doing driveways while in colleg back in the early 2000’s. when they sold, they were in about 20 states and had contacts with places like the Mercedes dome in atlanta.

I’ll pay him 200 to pressure wash my back porch and driveway.

Have him text me to line it up if he’s interested.

i read where a guy gets paid $20 per garbage can to pressure wash or something like that. That is all he does. Rides round day after trash pickup and cleans them

I would think that based off his fishing schedule and the need for flexibility that lawn care would not be a good idea. That's too consistent and you can't keep the grass from growing. At least with pressure washing he can schedule as HIS schedule suits.

Young boy in the neighborhood got started in psi washing driveways, walks & decks.
Found out how much aggravation it was to do areas that did not drain well.
Round, rotating surface cleaners & a bunch of quick connect fittings are a must have.
Drone use has been around awhile too.

He can try calling my guy Travis Hicks at 803-468-2655. Tell him Miles referred him.

Worse he can do is say no.

Delta in a nutshell: Breeding grounds + small wetlands + big blocks of grass cover + predator removal + nesting structures + enough money to do the job= plenty of ducks to keep everyone smiling!

I’m going to get him insurance and probably form an LLC but what other licenses are needed if any?

Municipalities often require a business license. We were shut down in South Congaree a few months ago because we had not purchased a business license. I was written a $1000 ticket. It was torn up once we applied for and were granted a license.
