It’s a terrible picture but color, numbers, area etc all make it pretty much impossible to be anything else in SC. However I’m purely going off color and my personal experience, anyone that can see mushrooms in those pics and could identify if you cropped one out and asked the same question would be lying. Chanterelles are easy to distinguish and everything I see clearly says it’s them, other than seeing the mushroom ��

I call this little collection of photos, "NOT Chanterelles"...One of them is probably a good edible, one will definitely make you sick as a dog, and I don't have a clue what the last one is but none of them are chanterelles. My point is, I hope, obvious.

Chants grow from dirt/soil
Jacks grow from wood…be careful…if an iffy “chanterelle” is growing from dirt and you question its gills/color/shape. Brush away the dirt and make sure it’s not a jack growing from a buried piece of wood.
