Just got my new Carolina Sportsman Magazine digitally today and just now took a look at it
Much to my surprise I was in it, got some funny stories over the years with my Buddy on some of his articles

The very slow site ran many people off. Seems like there are a lot of folk MIA
The guides loved that hole in Edisto. Glad I got to live 43 steps from it for five years! Probably 30 some steps with all the erosion now. Pulled some pigs out of there.
This is very cool, tprice. You live a charmed life, bubba.

It is cool but have to admit that picture is OLD (trust me lot of gray in my hair now-days ) , actually PG and I were at IOP for trip with Capt Chris Chavis (if I am correct ). He was doing an article on tarpon fishing in SC. Was late August that I recall and PG I were going “tarpon” fishing. Had to see how this worked, funny thing was we pulled up to of the exact same spots I fish at the rocks when I am there for bull reds.
Used live pogies on a carolina rig and one under a big float , finally I had to ask. “What we doing different for tarpon “. Like any quick witted Capt he said “Well if we catch a tarpon we TARPON fishing, if we catch a bull red WE BULL RED FISHING “.
neat trip and we did hook 1 or 2 fish that ran but never jumped and he said they were tarpon . Caught several nice big bull reds and some sharks He did hook his pogies different than I did(he put hook in back portion of belly instead of lip ) and also took scissors and clipped ends of tail fins(which still do t this day ) , said that makes them put off more vibrations .
Fishing or Hunting with Phil Gentry is always an adventure and no matter what he is gonna take a lot of pictures which he uses down the road some time
Normally he gives me a heads up but did not on this one, just opened up my Carolina Sportsman and saw myself in the pictures however PG actually got on the cover himself which was well deserved. Great guy and one of my dearest friends
