Most fellers don’t need diesel trucks or special camo, but they still get bought every day.

There's a huge difference. I've got a pretty nice AR9, but it doesn't hold a candle to a roller-delayed locking blowback system. The bolt stays locked until the bullet exists the barrel, unlike an AR where the bullet is still leaving the barrel when the process of cycling of the next round starts to begin. It's much smoother & more "controllable" than a gas blowback system. Follow-up shots are right on target. If you've ever shot a M16, Uzi (micro or full-size), Tec-9, or nearly any other common machine gun, then you know how difficult it is to control. A real MP5 is very easy to keep on paper due to their recoil system. Granted, it does have its downside - that being there are more wear points and a few small parts do need to be replaced over time (locking piece & rollers).

Do you even zombie, bro? (In all seriousness, I hope to never have to use it for its intended purpose. The HK 9mm pulls house duty. The 22 does night-time critter control. The PDW is purely for shits 'n giggles.)

Meh. You didn't "need" three weapons. You needed one and had two additional because they were better suited for whatever task you were trying to achieve.

Do I need any of these? Nope. Are they fun to tinker with? Hell yeah!
