Great Falls teen accidentally shoots 15-year-old friend

GREAT FALLS, S.C. - A 16-year-old boy has shot and killed his 15-year-old friend in a hunting accident, authorities say.

Stiles Brunson was putting down his gun during a hunting trip Sunday went it fired a shot that struck Buck Mills in the head, Chester County deputies said.

Brunson immediately called 911, saying he accidentally shot his friend. He was still on the phone kneeling beside Mills when officers arrived, according to a police report.

Mills died at the scene, authorities said.

Deputies ate still investigating, but officials say the shooting appears to be accidental.

Both Brunson and Mills went to Great Falls High School and spent the night together Saturday before going hunting, their families said.
