Default Sweet corn for the garden

I grew up on Merit corn. Haven’t had a garden in years but have a small one this year.

I had some old merit seed from my grandpa that I planted but it was a complete failure.

Gonna replant but have no idea what variety to plant. Any help?

Might want to do a little research on types of corn. Several newer types you would like much better than Merit I would think. SE type corn hold sugar much longer than something like Merit or Silver Queen. As mentioned above Peaches and cream or Ambrosia are two favorite SE type corn that are both very good IMO.

I alternate rows with silver queen and gold queen and get bicolor ears.

I used to plant Merit until it became unavailable. I switched to Bodacious and have been pleased. It freezes well too.
