I had 2 come back the end of last week. One was 12 months and the other was only four months. Both were on trust.

I’m three weeks in and my dealer has it in hand after the form 3 cleared. He said probably a few weeks for my trust on the form 4. I’ll report back.

A friend applied last Monday. They called Wednesday and said he’d been approved.

Weeks? Nah dude; you're gonna be waiting for a few months. Trusts are still not being done at breakneck speed. I'm coming up on my 3rd month...

I am also coming up on my 3rd month. It's a tactic to steer people away from putting it in a trust.

I was told yesterday by an FFL that the trust has lost its advantages due to some rule changes obama implemented and you can transfer from individual to individual (i.e. will) for $5.

So the trust is still advantageous?

Can you not buy as an individual then transfer items to a trust later?

Yup. Just costs ya another $200... I don't need $400 stamps, as I can be somewhat patient - especially when it comes to things I don't "need."

I bought one as an individual about a month ago, certified on April 9th and approved on April 10th (was 27 hours total).
