Yeah, but do you consider a dog to be a filthy animal? I wouldn't go so far as to call a dog filthy but they're definitely dirty. But, a dog's got personality. Personality goes a long way.

2024 Offshore
Slow day for us yesterday. 2 dolphin picked up around 1:30 as a double under a sea turtle. Others were there but couldnt get back on them.
Fished from 250 early on a thick weed line and pushed to 1700.
Had a friend text me that they caught 3 blues.

Everyone I’ve talked to that went yesterday or Thursday said they only caught 2-3 dolphin.

Today
Pulled up short to start as it was bumpy running out. Hit a 28” ARS off the bat, followed with a short gag, then a short scamp. Picked at the usual triggers and Bliners. Headed deep after an hour or two of that.
Tried the deeper drops but the drift was 2.5 knots and the Rhodan wouldn’t hold with wind, tide and current, managed one yellow mouth
Prospected a bunch of weed lines but no life on them.
Ran back in and limited on good sized Bliners, strawberries and some other bottom fish. Got in a fight with a 150# or more sand tiger on an Accurate BV 300 and light slow pitch rod and got it boat side. Those noodle rods and little reels are just impressive for what you can beat with one. Tons of jacks as well.
Kids had fun, my youngest finally used a patch and didn’t get seasick. Fished all day, had a blast and is ready to go again.
Ran out at 30, in at 40, dry and comfortable. Finally got to use the NV camera, that’s a game changer running in the dark.
