    Default NC Campgrounds

I want to take the fam in the next few weeks for an old fashioned tent camping trip. maybe float a canoe, and fly fish. Where do y'all recommend? Access to nice bathroom is a requirement for the wife. My only requirement is adequate distance between tent sites. Thanks

If Western North Carolina, it will be hard to beat Davidson River campground. Proximity to amenities and the forest/activities is less than a few miles each way.

What do you call an adequate distance?

I love Black Mountain campground. Its at the base of Mt Mitchell. You'll have to do some searching for canoe capable put ins but there's streams zig zagging all over that area. Black Mountain Campground also has the S Toe river running right through it, so your water access wont be an issue. Its a great place where your kids can play in the river and I'm sure you could find some fish nearby. Pack your jackets no matter what time you go, its cool up there when the sun goes down.

If you aren't set on NC you can his up cherry hill campground above oconee st park. Has nice shower and flush toilet and close to chattooga and fish hatchery. Can do all things you seek to do there.

And there's a nice park on the river a short distance above the campground with great river access. It's part of the pisgah forest and the road is a nice drive up to the parkway with plenty of roadside pullovers on the lower portion directly on the river.
