    Default Fripp Island for Vacation

Making some changes and may be looking for another vacation spot , been at IOP since early 70’s

We do make a trip to PF/Gatlinburg most summers as well but for beach we just like to chill mostly and enjoy it

We are looking at some where different for summer 2025 vacation with our Adult kids, their spouses and 3 grandkids (10, 5,4 next year )

Daughter was mentioning Fripp she thought we be neat , she has some friends that enjoy it there

Have looked a little bit at Fripp, Jekyll , St Simon and some others just killing time

Like some where to take my boat and decent inshore fishing , oldest grandson is really getting into fishing .

We typically just enjoy beach, cook at home most evenings and if a pool if access . Like to have close boat ramp or if in our budget a house with dock .

Just kicking tires for down the road

Been going to Fripp for 30+ years. They got bought out last year and the new company has added all kinds of fees and bullshit that the property owners are pissed about. Alot of house rentals have gone up 20-40% percent in the last year due to this. Probably not going back this year. My family had been looking for the perfect house to buy since we all go at different times but this sell has pulled that idea off the table.

It’s worth it, all the fish are on that side of the harbor.

Kiawah? You got beach and good fishing walking from the house.

Have not paid the $50 fee, every time I use it no fee to launch but cost your ass $25 to park you truck/trailer there

Honestly we putting IOP house on market, gonna be a tough one. Parents bought first house there 50 yrs ago this month . It is just TIME

Going to be a TOUGH one though but My Sis and I always knew this day would come

Truly going to be a “fish out of water” when it sells

Yeah it’s an awesome area to fish, especially in my 13’ Gheenoe.

I highly recommend Fernandina beach Florida. Nicest boat ramp I’ve been to ever. Foods were good and we rode the boat for days. Cumberland island was pretty cool too with the wild horses and old homes

    Thanks

I assume the marina there has a boat ramp for public use or those staying on the island ?

Rent has gone through roof at IOP and dang transplants trying to pass limits on ST rentals, we decided due to that time to move on . Did not pass this time but would not surprise me to see it come back up in future.

Yes you can use the marina ramp. Can’t remember if there is a fee or not. Call the marina store and they can tell you everything you need to know. It has been 10+ years since i took a boat down with me.

There is also a public ramp right there at Fripp Inlet.

Russ Point Landing. If you put in there....Make sure and leave your doors unlocked or leave your windows down.
