    Default Ford 10-Speed Transmission

When I bought my 2018 F150 4x4, I did my motor research and got the 5.0
based on all the ecoboost issues, cam phasers issues, etc
I should have but didn't look into transmission known issues and the truck has the 10-speed.
I love this truck, loaded Lariat and drives like a new Cadillac.
On Saturday morning 25 degrees, pulled out of drive way and felt it slip a tad and then shift hard into 1st.
Did the same at the next stop sign. Worked perfect and smooth once tranny up to temp, the remainder of day. I thought may be the below
freezing temps? Same thing Sunday and this morning, except I barely made it home this afternoon. Stayed in 6th gear and a "wrench" symbol
appeared on dash. Code reader shows P0716 "something about shift solenoids.
    Called Kevin and LVM
What is my best route with it? Rebuilding or a buying a rebuilt transmission?
The Ford dealer almost gave me cardiac arrest after he talked a new one
Kevin, what route do you recommend?
    Thanks

I tried to tell you to not drink that Ford Kool-Aid! As GBelly and I have now said for the 100th time, buy a Tundra! Curious, did Ford change their Kool-Aid Color to Orange. Ford is definitely in the shitter.

How many miles? Towing? Aggressive driving?

My 2011 with 6speed will have that cold morning slip if I don’t let it idle for a few minutes. Change the fluid and it is fixed. Don’t believe the ford bs about 150000mile transmission fluid.

Probably best to treat them like a Honda transmission with partial fluid replacement every 30k miles. Aka. Suck out the pan and refill. Keeps mixing new with old. I am at over 200k and now looking into a complete flush.

Edit to add that you don’t have to drop the pan to change fluid in the pan. You can buy a cheap pump with tubing for getting the oil out through the dip stick hole in boats and use it. The fill plug on mine is right beside the cat. I can pump out almost a gallon and replace. Do this then drive around. Do it again and you have replaced about half the fluid. Cheap and easy.

Common sense is not a gift. It's a punishment because you have to deal with everyone else who doesn't have it.

Now that they switched to the hybrid motor, that's not even an option anymore.
