    Default Unusual catch

I’m not a trapper, this was from a friend. Anyone seen anything like this?

I've caught a barred owl in a havahart trap. Curious what the set was here.

I’ve caught 2 crows. Both by the head. Both in dirt sets. It isn’t like they were walking around and stepped in the wrong place. Baffles me how they knew “something” was there.

I call in owls just about every time I night hunt. If I’m in a field they will land on the ground about 25-30 yards from the call and try to figure it out. In the woods they usually perch in a tree right above the call.

Fresh dirt is a dead give away for turtle nests. That's what they were looking for.

Got a buzzard once in a foot hold but never an owl lol

I rode up on a set to find an unfortunate fox squirrel had gotten caught and a big hawk was eating him. The hawk flew off. I removed the squirrel, poked his dangling entrails into the dirt hole and remade the set. When I drove by an hour later on my way out the hawk was caught in the trap.

    I've caught two buzzards before.

Didn't get in a trap but had an owl in the tree over the boat picking clean the remains of a few 6# lobster bodies we enjoyed the day before.
Hear 3 distinct different owls 4+ nights a week. Hootie-Hooing like Gomer Pyle.
Got the remains of 7# of Golden King crap out back now....
Have had 3 coyotes at one time eating on fish scraps too.

I caught a 1 pound bass in a drowning set with a foothold trap for beavers years back. Chasing bait onto the pan I assume.

And I've caught buzzards setting traps on a pile of dead goats for the dogs that killed them.

I caught a small carp in a conibear trap set for beaver last year.

I just knew I had that bitch caught when I pulled up. The confusion that must've been on my face when I saw that fish would've been hilarious to anybody, I'm sure.

I ended up shooting that beaver from about 200yds. I couldn't catch her ass if my life had depended on it.
