Default Pistol grip turkey gun or traditional stock

Looking at buying a turkey specific shotgun. Will be used only for turkey. Which is best in your opinion?

All about personal preference. Have both and like both. I'd maybe lean toward a pistol grip if a dedicated turkey gun, but go hold both and see which you prefer.

I prefer the standard shotgun stock.........Pistol grips are awkward and unweildy to me.

I don't need a pistol grip or scope/electronic sight to kill a turkey at 40 yards..........Just my shotgun and me.

Until you miss one or pull it off trying to force a shot. If you have not yet, you will miss one if you hunt enough. Then it all changes. Once you put a red dot sight on a shotgun there is no going back. Kind of like putting a scope on a 30-06... sure you can kill a deer at normal ranges without it, but the scope takes the "maybe" factor out of it.

Try out both, and mounting them to your non dominate arm/shoulder. You’d be surprised how many times you wished you were ambidextrous because the bird presented “on the wrong side of the tree”.

(Well, maybe that’s just my luck, or a series of bad tree choices)

I have a few dedicated turkey guns and I've switched almost all of them to some sort of pistol grip and have been using some sort of red dot long before the stock changes.

The red dot adds a measure of confidence and accuracy for me and the pistol grip stock makes hunting more comfortable. Not having to raise my hand above the stock to shoot is a huge benefit.
