    Default Curious horse trailer question

I was sitting at traffic light his am and saw a flatbed truck with 5th wheel horse trailer hooked to it

Noticed not only the 5th wheel hook up but also looked like another hookup to reese hitch as well, in other words appeared to but hooked twice to the truck

Never noticed this before and probably never paid any attention to it

    What is reason for this

I do a fair amount of business with horse people and
the majority of the ones I deal with around Aiken, don't ask "how much is it".
Just tell you what they want and say, "how soon can I get it".
From what I can tell, the wealthiest just winter their horses here and have their estate in Connecticut, New Hampshire or such.
After talking to several, I think there may be money to be made transporting these horses.
I don't know shit about it but one told me the other day, she needed someone to go to Colorado and pick up a horse.
I had another last month tell me she needed two Quarter horses brought here from Texas
Polo is getting pretty big in the area too and involves moving a lot of horses
Just met the Venezuelan Polo Team captain, he bought a huge spread here.
    Just say'n

Can you imagine the insurance policy you'd have to have just to haul those horses?. Some horses are insured for over 5 million dollars and I'm not talking race horses. There is money to be made in horses though.

I love it when rich people have expensive hobbies like ducks, quail, and horses.

You should google Andrey Borodin and then you should visit my house and see the farm he has built across the road. Did I mention one of the SCDNR dive team members is the “Farm Manager” for him?

A lot of the polo crowd that plays in Big Horn, Wyoming winters their horses in Aiken. Never knew how big of a sport it was until I moved out west. Those horses are worth millions.

I'd say a conservative estimate is around ten percent of horse people are wealthy. It all depends on what style their in.. Flat tracks, steeplechase, hunter jumper, barrel, there's old money in the first two. Then there's new money plus old money in the first, and old money helping out the second. Hunter Jumpers are all sorts, some just wanting to dress up and pretend.

A lot of “horse and rodeo” people are like some of the travel ball people. Spending their last dime and going into debt to try to keep up with the Jonses.
