Ringnecks aren't terrible in fresh water, I love listening to them fly and they're fun to shoot. I can't see putting the effort into whole picking one, and the skin would be atrocious.. to eat. Brackish, I'd pass on them if there were other ducks flying around. In water up here, I'll finish a limit with them. you're basically going to pick the feathers around the breast enough to get the knife in, then filet the meat off the skin.
I will simply present this as a statement of fact. I hunted there one morning 3-4 years ago, and from my blind, I could see shotguns poke up out of 9 other blinds.
Them that don't know him won't like him, and them that do sometimes won't know how to take him
He ain't wrong, he's just different, and his pride won't let him do things to make you think he's right
They don't put Championship rings on smooth hands
I’ve been once, you’ll kill ducks, enjoy yourself. But it’s a Tamie heybo operation.
This... I won't even go to work my dogs anymore... it is pathetic.

I love shooting ring necks! They're like little fighter jets. I was in a club on the upper west branch of the Cooper River and, some years, ringos were all we had. I love the sound of them sizzling by overhead.
I only shoot deer because I like to eat them. I only eat ducks because I like to shoot them. Ring necks are sporty shooting.

Bring a half pint of rock and rye.
We hunted it prob 7 or 8 years ago and the :guide" told me they raise x amount of birds per year for the members to shoot at. We sat in a blind in the middle of a small flooded corn field. Could see trucks all along the roads, guys out there hammering on calls when black birds flew by, could hear people yelling at dogs too. We were only allowed 1 box of shells per person. When the shooting go really slow, we walked to the end of the pond and kicked up about a dozen mallards that had been swimming out there since daybreak. The lodge area was really cool. The owner came in and you would have never known he had 2 pennies to rub together but he was a really cool laid back guy. Talked to us like he had known us for years. It was funny hearing them all fight over certain blinds while cutting the price tags off their new coats and waders. It was literally like shooting fish in a barrel though. Just go and enjoy it for what it is. Doubtful you will ever see so many mallards in 1 place in SC.

If that was my only option to duck hunt, I’d quit.
Well I highly doubt they release ring necks, teal, red heads, pintails and gadwall……… I mean their pictures don’t li, unless they’re killing them somewhere else and posting pictures. I’ve only been following their social media since the beginning of last year so I don’t know what they’ve done in years past.
I’ve always enjoyed going down there. You will have a good time even if you don’t kill a duck.
