I may be wrong, I’ve been wrong before, but I was under the impression that since the group from Columbia moved in they have since stopped releasing birds and only shoot the excess from the surrounding ponds that do release birds. Once again I could be very wrong.

If that was my only option to duck hunt, I’d quit.

I've been back in the upstate since 2019. A lot could've changed since I left, but I know in 2018-19 season they were still doing it.

Well I highly doubt they release ring necks, teal, red heads, pintails and gadwall……… I mean their pictures don’t li, unless they’re killing them somewhere else and posting pictures. I’ve only been following their social media since the beginning of last year so I don’t know what they’ve done in years past.

Oh they kill their share of wild birds. The bigger issue is them hunting over live decoys.

When the shooting go really slow, we walked to the end of the pond and kicked up about a dozen mallards that had been swimming out there since daybreak. The lodge area was really cool. The owner came in and you would have never known he had 2 pennies to rub together but he was a really cool laid back guy. Talked to us like he had known us for years. It was funny hearing them all fight over certain blinds while cutting the price tags off their new coats and waders. It was literally like shooting fish in a barrel though. Just go and enjoy it for what it is. Doubtful you will ever see so many mallards in 1 place in SC.
That would've been Larry. He's a great guy.

I’ve always enjoyed going down there. You will have a good time even if you don’t kill a duck.

You ever had to stop your truck for the sheer amount of ducks walking across the drive from the pen to the pond? I have... at Two Ponds in October of 2012. My old boss is kinda high up in that club and I know they were still releasing in 2018-19. Since then I couldn't tell you what they do.

I was near there for the opening first season 2022. In my lifetime of almost 50 years of hunting I have never heard as much shooting. Ever. Uruguay, here, etc. Love it or hate it, that's a smart group that has a successful killing club 45 minutes from Lexington/Columbia.
