    Default Drilling and Tapping a Benelli M1

    Anyone have it done? Any problems? Looking to have one done, but after reading about it, internet is split about 50/50 that the receiver is too thin.

    Don't... just get a Burris Speedbead and have the absolute best platform out there... I LOVE mine and have used the snot out of it for 10-12 years.

    My M1 is drilled/tapped. I have a 336 mount and Burris FF3 installed.

    If you decide on drilling and tapping, get a base made by that feller in Savannah. Name escapes me.

    No, he just built one just like the Marlin 336 base because they were hard to get at the time cause everybody was using them. Tidbit of information...I was the first one to ever use a Marlin 336 base to mount a Burris FastFire on a shotgun.

    Yep, what Mike said. I’ve drilled and tapped several M1’s…..there is nothing wrong with doing so, just make sure you’ve mounted the base farther back on the receiver where the most meat is located.

    There is a cool looking mount I saw in the gram. Company is called Meadow Creek Mounts. Clamps to the rib of the gun. Cool looking design.
