Default Heavy duty gas cabinet smoker

I’m done cooking on the cheap masterbuilt cabinet smokers.

Anyone have any recommendations for a heavy duty, even commercial grade cabinet smoker?

    No I don’t want a pellet smoker.

You want a gravity fed smoker that needs some tlc? It's a Deep South gc34 or something like that.

I’ll do some research and see what it is and how it works.

That's a stationary version of the Old Country Smokehouse I mentioned above.

Like I said, it’s not a beauty contestant, but it cooks some damn good vittles. He’s in Greer. It’s HEAVY!!! He is asking $100, but he doesn’t need the money. Would probably trade for some shells, decoys, beer, bourbon…. Something. Let me know if it’s at all interesting to you and I will PM you his number.

I like the concept. I’ve never used charcoal for the smoke. My current smoker uses chunks of wood that sits in a box above the flame.

Have at it. I need to do more research before I pull the trigger.

I only use a charcoal chimney half full to get the hickory wood started. From there on, it's full size split logs. Get it up to temp, choke it down, and let it roll. It'll hold steady with enough wood for hours at a time.

I’ve acquired a slightly used box like above with making a smoker. Don’t know if I’ll get around to it or not, but I think it would work well. It would have to be in a permanent location or trailered though.. the box is I’m going around 500#.

I’d say give John a call and get you an Alveron, but I heard his shop burned and he’s having to rebuild everything. So there’s no telling how long it’d take to get one.

Solid suggestion here. Made in Elm City NC. Great units from all wood/charcoal to straight gas. I used to cook on one pretty often.

Have one at work, trailer gas grill essentially but with a smoke box. It’s a fine unit. High quality. Would imagine his wood fired stuff is top notch as well. Lot of famous BBq’ers use his grills. Like Willk…
