    Default Best Band Ever!

And one of their best songs that never gets enough attention!

It was born way back in 1970, but it wasnt until 1975 and the release of Physical Graffiti that we heard this work of art released in its beauty!

    This is a cool video!

And even though this is an over lay with old footage this is the 75 version! I love the phaser, and the slight echo-plex overdrive into those kt88's

You dang right they aren't. While I love some De-wayne & later Government Mule. Those boys could never hold a candle to Zep. Zep averaged 3 hour shows and were a live band. Allman Bro's sounded much better in studio.

But Zep was the entire package they could go from

And Salty I am with you. Out of all their "known songs" Over the Hills is my favorite. I prefer the version from the last night of Earls Court of 75. Remember this is the last night of 3 shows in a row that were averaging 3:30 min. The last one came in almost 3:45. That is an amazing feat for any band top all off one night, but to do it 3 nights in a row?

Then you have a song that I dare say would give De-wayne a lot on slide.

And even from the beginning they came out blowing minds, just look at the faces no one seems to know how to comprehend what they are hearing, but they liked it!

Lets not leave out the church organ you wait on some black lady to hit a chorus, instead you end up with Plant, release a wonderful love song.

They truly were shades of light and dark. Such a remarkable band, and while there are many other bands, none can ever cover the range and territory Zep did. That is just fact. You may not like it, but most bands are really one trick ponies. They can play a genre really well, but get them out of it and they cant do it.

And we cant leave out their ode to disco. Yes at the ripe old age of 27 Plant and Zep were considered dinosaurs by then. Under the working title of Brandy & Coke they released a song loosely based on one of Robert Johnson's. The song is filled with metaphors for car parts substituting for sex! LOL. They really were amazing at how cunning they were with lyrics. It wasnt the in your face gynecological exam. It left just enough room for the imagination.

It is a sheer miracle Jimmy made it out alive. When you look at all the great guitarist that were smacked out of their minds, thank God they had real heroine and not Fent, or we wouldnt have the music we have.

Phil was such a good talent gone, but Thin Lizzy is an example of the one trick pony.

Leslie Harvey is one you probably have never heard of, but was a great guitarist and had potential. So much so Zep had signed them to their label Swan song. Usually when those guys picked a band they went some where. You may have heard of one of their other picks.....Bad Company.
