This buck has been a long time coming. I have 5 years of history with this deer and have been hunting him for 4 years. I shot him down the brisket with the bow on 12/3/21 and hit him too low. He showed back up a few times last year after I was tagged out and couldn’t hunt him. This year I got the first picture of him in early October and he’s only showed up 3 times since. On 10/28, 11/16 and this morning. I had been hunting him about 650 yards away from where I had shot him in 2021 and on Wednesday I hung a camera on the creek crossing I had originally shot him at and got a picture of him. It’s not often I pick a rifle up but I killed him with my late grandads Marlin 30-30 with the original box of Remington core-lokts my dad bought him with the gun in the early 90s. This is the first buck ever killed with that gun and I couldn’t have picked a better one. I’m glad the chase is finally over but a part of me wishes I could hunt him again. He’s by far the most difficult deer I’ve ever had the pleasure to hunt. The trail cam pictures are from 2023,2022,2021 and 2019. I can’t find the 2020 pictures of him. I didn’t put him on a scale but he was easily 180-190 pounds and would have been every bit of 200 before the rut.
