    Default Taxidermist

I have a friend who wants to get a deer mounted that is the first deer for a child. He's limited on funds. Who would be a decent taxidermist for them to use around the Columbia, Santee or surrounding area that does good work but won't break the bank?

Limited on funds because of circumstance or just doesn’t want to spend money on a taxidermy bill?

Get Rickaaaay’s son to euro that sucker for a hundred dollar bill
Them that don't know him won't like him, and them that do sometimes won't know how to take him

He ain't wrong, he's just different, and his pride won't let him do things to make you think he's right

If he truly wants it mounted for a kid I’d get it caped, freeze the cape and get a hundred dollar euro and save money so he can get it done right. Price shopping taxidermy is a risky business. That hide will keep till he has the cheddar.

Great idea. I know a lot of places will let you pay here and there during the waiting period which is going to be several months to a year anywhere decent.

Try Ty in Allendale. He works out of Palmetto Pride processing. Under $500 for a shoulder mount and does good work. He has done several for me.

Correct. A low cost/budget mount will get you a dry tanned grinner with 4:20 eyes.

Go ahead and bite the bullet and mount it. The odds of getting it mounted after wasting money getting the Euro are low.

Most I’ve talked to around me are $550-$800 with no plaque and most are full. One guy wants $800, paid in full up front and 8-12 months turn around.

Lol on Woody's. He is cheap but his work lacks the spark of the more expensive taxidermists. He did my dad's shoulder mount in the 90s. It actually looks ok.
