I hear that getting replacement parts for a rhodan is a problem.

I needed a new control box for mine, had it in three days.
Yeah, but do you consider a dog to be a filthy animal? I wouldn't go so far as to call a dog filthy but they're definitely dirty. But, a dog's got personality. Personality goes a long way.

Got a buddy with the Rhodan on his rig in FL and he said Minn Kota wins in all situations.

He says the offshore guys like 'em because they don't know what a trolling motor is actually supposed to do.

I'm just the messenger. Don't shoot me.

If I bought a new one today for any size boat, it would have Minn Kota written on it.

Next question, where is the best place to buy a Terrova?
I got mine from the hated Cabelas store because they were hard to find at the time. Note: they are big, heavy and awkward even when in the box.

You buy something other than a MK at your own peril.

I have both. A 24V Terrova on my Triton and 36V Rhodan on the Southport. The Rhodan is much easier and user friendly with the fob. The remote with the Terrova is not nearly as user friendly, easier to use the App on the phone. The Terrova will interface with a Hummingbird only, Rhodan is coming out with an interface that’ll work with Garmin, Simrad, Lowrance and others.

Feedback I’ve gotten from those with the power pole trolling motor has been great. Claim the gps ability beats the others as well.
I can’t imagine their customer service on it to be anything short of stellar if needed.

All sizes in stock at the boat shed in Georgetown. I’m sure Palmetto or some other dealer has them a little closer to you, but Boat shed is not a bad ride for you.

Go buy one from Brian at Charleston Marine. They are the local service center for Minn Kota.

Whichever you buy, make sure you aren't too far from an authorized repair center.

Rhodan sends you the parts and detailed step by step instructions to repair so you aren’t down waiting on them to get to it. MinnKota you’re waiting for someone, somewhere to get around to it.

I have the Minn Kota Ulterra 24V (remote deploy and stow). The spot lock holds within a few feet once it "locks", the gps locks and holds regardless of wind and tide),
Will sling ya around once and awhile adjusting to tide or such)
Been bullet proof for two years now (hope I didnt just jinx it).
