Default Prayers for SCSD, young Deputy passes

Had this young man as a bright eye 15yr on in driving class His Mom and I went to HS together and she and he both long time clients.

He worked as a dispatched until old enough to become an Anderson County Sheriff’s Deputy. Also long time volunteer fireman

Last year about this time the state was bombarded with “fake school shooters” all over and Robert Anderson Middle School was one of them. Adam was in my office the next day to sign his tax return and was telling he was one of first 3 thru the door and was prepared for whatever was going to happen He and I had a good talk that day about him being LEO , he truly loved serving his community but like most anyone in Law Enforcement got aggravated with the system

Please keep Adam’s Mom , wife and family in your prayers. He had step child and 6 weeks ago he and his wife had their first child together

Apparently Adam battled depression issues, something I never knew.

like a fox. The dude may be coming in a little too hard and crazy but 90% of everything he says is correct.

Sorry to hear that. I haven't seen anything in the news, but based off your post I assume it was not "duty related". Prayers for his family and friends.

This brings an interesting thought into my haywired brain.

It was brought to my attention that I'm really bad at empathy. So I decided to read some books in an effort to learn about it, what it means and how to better practice it.

Putting this responsibility solely on a person who is hurting completely lacks empathy. As a human it would behoove all of us as a whole to recognize when a person is hurting and be intentional about extending a helping hand to that person. I'm sure signs were there, people simply overlooked them because they chose to for whatever reason. I do it all the time, but I'm working on it. Not putting blame on anyone else, just saying there's a lesson to be learned here. To assign blame on the hurting doesn't do any good. If everyone close to him could have shown that they cared enough to have some real conversation and engage the man, it coulda changed him and the outcome. He likely just needed someone to prove they cared.

    Comfort over criticism. That's empathy.

Delta in a nutshell: Breeding grounds + small wetlands + big blocks of grass cover + predator removal + nesting structures + enough money to do the job= plenty of ducks to keep everyone smiling!
