You make a good point, and it’s been quite clear that Independents have a large influence on the national vote. Unfortunately, the candidates we are given are beyond disappointing, but also reinforces the justification for us being a Republic. Yet, these days we can’t trust our elected officials to do what’s best for the country. I wouldn’t stand a chance as a politician in this current climate.
