It looks like Idalia will be here for opening weekend. I hope the birds hold.

the only part that never fails is people worrying about weather systems.
you think these doves are gonna fly south?
Ugh. Stupid people piss me off.
I just had to feed my doves for the second time today. They know what's up. They will be back. My pet osprey is trying to catch a cat at the moment. I love that guy...
Do doves really leave a field if there's a tropical storm beforehand?
I admittedly only hunt the same 4 farms since I was 8 years old.
To my recollection, I've never seen an abrupt leave by doves.
Calhoun, Orangeburg, and Colleton Counties..... Seem to always have em year in and year out.
Be proactive about improving public waterfowl habitat in South Carolina. It's not going to happen by itself, and our help is needed. We have the potential to winter thousands of waterfowl on public grounds if we fight for it.
Not sure about tropical stuff but I was on the tractor yesterday and should have taken note when 100 got up out of the flowers at 1 time and hit the trees for cover. Got my azz soaked getting back to the shop.

Beer will be cold and BBQ will be great regardless
They will shift around typically during or after these tropical events but usually settle back into a place. In the winter time migratory Birds will pick up and haul ass in no time flat! I've seen them move into a field for one or two days gone the next

If I could pick a day to open the season right now hands down I would shoot Thursday afternoon when this shit passes. It will be epic the feed that happens

I think the more lightning in the storms you have, the further they move.
True for ducks too.
